Interstate Electrical Services Earns 2022 ABC ‘Excellence in Construction’ Awards

Interstate Electrical Services Corporation announced it has received Excellence in Construction Merit Awards from the Massachusetts, New Hampshire/Vermont, and Rhode Island chapters of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for its outstanding work providing electrical contracting services for Maine Medical Center in Scarborough, ME.

Maine Medical Center (MMC) is a Level 1 Trauma Center and the state’s largest medical center. To meet the needs of its growing patient population, MMC sought to expand its healthcare resources as well as its physical footprint.
The new $59M, 108,000-square-foot, three-story medical office building houses the neurology, neurosurgery, rehabilitative medicine, otolaryngology (ENT), and vascular surgery practices in one regional center, giving patients access to the most advanced treatments, diagnostics, and imaging available including a new state-of-the-art MRI and imaging suite. The facility also boasts an additional 500 parking spaces, helping to improve patient access to these specialty medical resources.

Representatives of Interstate Electrical Services say key accomplishments of the project include:

• Cost and time savings: Interstate’s prefabrication processes, strategic coordination, and detailing resulted in significant cost and time savings.

• Enhanced safety: Interstate’s inherent rigorous safety protocols insured a safe and healthy work environment for all project stakeholders.

• Improved efficiency: The use of advanced technologies, such as Trimble Robotic Station, allowed for precise installation of electrical components, reducing rework, and improving overall efficiency.

• Positive impact on communities: The project will have a positive impact on its community by providing state-of-the-art facilities and improved healthcare services.
